Welcome back to our Summer Newsletter!
We hope everyone has had chance to enjoy the fantastic weather we have had so far this summer!
We’ve had some big news since our last instalment, so without further ado lets dive right in!

IN THE PRACTICE
Last month we were trilled to be named the Best Independent Opticians Practice, for the Midlands. The title was awarded in the recent SME Family Business Awards which launched this year. While SME News has long celebrated the achievements of small and medium sized businesses across the UK, this programme was created to recognise those family businesses which have flourished over the months, years, and decades since their establishment.
We’ve worked hard since 2018 to keep investing in new services, equipment and technology. Our vision has always been to provide the highest quality personal care and comprehensive eye tests to all our patients and it’s a fantastic feeling to have this recognised in a National Award programme.
So here’s to many more years and who knows? Maybe some more awards too!
IN THE NEWS
Smart Glasses that let deaf people ‘SEE’ conversations
The glasses, called XRAI Glass, use augmented reality to transform audio into captions that are instantly projected in front of the wearer’s eyes. The built in software converts audio into a subtitled version of conversation, which then appears on the screen of the glasses.
